A breaking news package created by senior Journalism and Mass Communication major Sarah Gardner placed second in the Center for Innovation in College Media's (CICM) contest for best breaking news. The breaking news package, which was created for the Íò²©¹ÙÍø News Network (SNN) and the Íò²©¹ÙÍø Crimson last March, focused on the 4 inches of snow that the Birmingham area received overnight on March 1, 2009. The CICM website states that the package "rises to the top because of its production value and nice video moments."
