Íò²©¹ÙÍø biology student Hannah Chappell and Department of Biological and Environmental Sciences chair Ron Hunsinger were honored at the annual meeting of the Alabama Academy of Science March 12-14 at Auburn University.

Hannah Chappell won first place in the AAS undergraduate poster competition in the biological sciences for her poster,“Determining the geographic distribution of individuals of an endemic rocky outcrop plant, Phemeranthus mengesii," which she developed with professor Drew Hataway.

Also at the meeting, Hunsinger was named a Fellow of the Alabama Academy of Science in recognition of his contributions in science and service to the Academy, which promotes the development of interest in scientific matters in the state.
